The
second show in the three-part lineup for the 2015 edition of the
Hennessy artistry showcase took place on Friday September 25, 2015 at
the Federal Palace Hotel Marquee. The Hennessy Hip-Hop Concert was
capped by prolific rapper and headlining act for the evening, Vector.
Guests
for the evening included a long list of Nigerian Hip-Hop industry
enthusiasts, and an equally long list of lyricists for Vector’s
performance which was described with words like “fiery”, “steamy”,
“stupendously entertaining”, “interesting”, “superlative”, and “feisty”;
by some of those in attendance. In usual style, the unique blends of
Hennessy were served in tasty cocktail mixtures out of an open bar, and
the evening proceeded to a lounge set opening with a cypher and closed
by rising hip hop head Yoye.
As part of the events marking Hennessy’s 250th anniversary celebration, the Hip-Hop concert also celebrated Hennessy’s “Art of blending”
with established and upcoming acts on the Nigerian entertainment scene.
There were freestyle sessions and cyphers, different stage sets for the
headlining act Vector, mash up performances that were 15-minutes exciting renditions of rhymes from Pryse, Dark Poet, Phlow, Karma, Milli amongst others, performance of Hennessy VS Class 2014 Track, introduction of 2015 Winners and the themed “Never Stop Never Settle” Session.
