The Lagos State Government has alleged
sabotage as one of the causes of the recent traffic gridlock being experiencied
in some parts of the metropolis. It
therefore warned that hard times await some unscrupulous members of the public who
engage in deliberate cutting of sections of the roads which had largely
contributed to traffic gridlocks in the state.
The General Manager of the
Lagos State Public Works Corporation, Engineer Ayo Shodeinde read this riot act
today at a joint news briefing in Alausa.
He said intelligence
report from security operatives revealed deliberate cutting of roads by
criminally minded people in order to slow down traffic and harass innocent
commuters.
